- Before the Punic Wars, Rome was small; it was just the Italian peninsula. It was also a Republic

- Before the Punic Wars, Carthage was large and expansive. It included parts of Northern Africa and lower Spain.
- Yeah! No one can beat us!
- The first Punic War was mostly over the sea. It was a war over Sicily. Since Carthage was better at naval battles, Rome made their ships better. They added a bridge so they cold get to the opposing ships.

- Hannibal Barca leads his elephant army through Spain to attack Rome from the north. Unfortunately, he faces a problem: the Alps. Hannibal decides to take part of his troop to Rome. After that, Hannibla and his crew get defeated and Carthagegetstaken over
- In the second Punic War, a Carthigian general Hannibal Barca takes his crew towards Rome to attack from the north. He eventually comes to the Alps. He leaves part of his crew at the Alps and takes the rest with him to attack Rome. After that, Carthage gets take over and Hannibal’s crew gets defeated.
- In the third Punic War, Carthage gets annihilated. The city gets burned down and salt was laid down so that no crops could grow. Most of the Carthiginians were killed while others were taken as slaves.
- Let’s put salt on the ground so nothing can grow
- In the third Punic War, Rome annihilates Carthage. They burn down the city and lay down salt so that nothing can grow. They kill most of the Carthiginians and take the rest as slaves.

- As a result of the Punic Wars, Rome gained lots of land and power. The Punic wars also led to the decline of the Roman Republic.
