- One day Miya was in class and overheard a group of girls talking about her.
- Look at Miyas crazy hair today!
- Its so puffy! It would look so much prettier if she fixed it and straightened it.
- There's nothing wrong with my hair just because it's not straight. Curly hair is beautiful too!
- Would you like it if someone made fun of your natrual hair too?
- My hair doesn't need to be fixed because it's not broken anyway. There's many people with different hair textures than you and that's fine!
- Miya walked over to them to explain why saying those things was mean and wrong.
- No, I guess I wouldn't like that either..
- If you wouldn't like someone saying mean things about you, you shouldn't say it about them.
- You should respect black peoples hair because of the important history it has. Also because it's normal natural hair just like your's is.
- Sorry for what we said, you're right it wasn't nice.
- After Miya explained this to them they said sorry to her.
- Im sorry too, now I understand that having curly hair isn't bad just because its different from my straight hair.
