- I wonder what the shape of the Earth is?
- According to our great philosophers the Earth's shape is spherical.
- How is that possible?
- Well, there has been a lot of evidence and conclusion regarding it, which has been thoroughly considered by great philosophers.
- Hmmm...I see.
- One of the natural observations was that is because the sea's surface is somewhat curved, like the surface of a huge ball, sailors would have noted that the sails of approaching ships appeared before the hulls of the ships became visible.
- Aristotle, too, came to a lot of conclusions. He came to the conclusion that the Earth is spherical because it constantly produces a curved shadow when it eclipses the moon. In addition, Aristotle claimed that the earth is not only spherical, but also a little circle, based on his observations of the stars. He pointed out that a minor shift in location to the south or north changes the stars that are visible overhead, and the stars viewed vary as one proceeds north or south.

- One of our great scholars, Eratosthenes, approximated the circumference of our Earth! He used experimental measurements of shadows in two cities and geometry.
- Yeah, our great philosophers really make arguments and knowledge, don't they. I guess I do believe that the Earth is a sphere now.
