- On June 2nd, 1774, the Quartering Act was established. This allowed American troops to be quartered in private homes and facilities. This angered many colonists and raised tensions with Britain.
- Declaratory Act (p.1)
- Throw that British tea!
- Colonists began to protest, and one day a group of protestors became especially hostile.
- Declaratory Act (p.2)
- The colonists are getting out of hand! We need to control them.
- The chaos caused British soldiers to fire, killing 5 men. This event was widely publicized by colonial officials like Samuel Adams, who marked this event as start of the Revolution.
- Declaratory Act (p.3)
- Are they really trying to increase control?!
- Ladies and Gentlemen! There's a new act: the Declaratory Act!
- The Boston Tea Party, which happened in protest of taxation without representation, was one of the first events that showed Britain the colonies' anger.
- After an increase in protests and resentment, King George III established the Declaratory act, which gave Britain freedom to bind the colonies in any way they pleased.
- Let's increase our control with a Declaratory Act sir!
- When the colonists heard of this new act, it only fueled the fire for revolution.
- We need to arm ourselves and prepare to fight back!
