Gatsby dismissed all of his servants and hired new ones, that weren't even servants, they were all family that used to run a hotel. Gatsby said that Daisy came over a lot in the afternoon and the servants gossiped to much.

Daisy's daughter came in while Gatsby and everyone were over, this caused Gatsby to realize that Daisy had a life outside of him.

After Tom realizes the feelings between Gatsby and Daisy he brings up Gatsby going to Oxford, so Gatsby confesses that he only went to Oxford for 5 month so he can't really call himself an Oxford man.
The Great Mistake
On a hot summer day Gatsby, Daisy, Jordan, Tom, and Nick went into the city for a day trip. Tom, Nick, and Jordan went in Gatsby's car, while Daisy and Gatsby took Tom's car.

On the way home from New York Daisy was very nervous and thought that driving would help, but Myrtle rushed into the road and Daisy hit her, killing her.
NEW YORK St
When everyone gets home Gatsby and Nick are outside talking about the drive home when the accident gets brought up. Gatsby explains what happened he tells Nick that he will take the blame for the accident and the death of Myrtle.
