- "Sometimes we even get in trouble for what we think or say about the working hours. "Our crime has been to speak out for better working conditions."
- They Make us work 14 hours a day! I am going to sign a pettition for only 10 hours!!!

- My name is Betsy. I was once laughing and it turned into a really bad cough!

- The concord corporation is making the grils work for 14 hours a day which is making them tired, so the factory girls want to sign a petition to get 10 hours instead of 14 the concord corp. acts like the society so it would be Person Vs Society.
- Coughing was a natrual thing that came from the mill by inhaling materials and betsy was fightig the cough trying to get better so it would be a Person Vs Nature.
- This shoes that lyddie would give Ezekiel in the begining of the book all of her saving and now she was reluctant to give her own mother a dollar so this shows how lyddie was changing and battling herself throught the book.
