- There is a change in the envrionment
- Individuals of the species are not all identical
- Natural Selection Occurs
- A change in the environment causes grass to become more rare and animals that eat grass are now in competition with each other.
- The selected characteristics are hereditary
- Some giraffes are slightly bigger and have longer necks than others.
- The species has adapted to its environment
- The larger giraffes with longer necks can eat tree leaves, and so their rate of survival increases compared to smaller giraffes
- The End
- The larger, long necked giraffes have babies who are also larger and have long necks.
- Over time, the small giraffes are replaced by big giraffes. Big giraffes become a new species.
