Storyboard Text
- In a wispy cloud of gas and dust, somehow part of the cloud collapsed in on itself caused it to compress.
- 4.6 Billion Years Ago
- Our sun was born when enough material collected at this disk's center. It collecting up all of the materials by strong gravity.
- The material left behind by the sun crashed each other into bigger and bigger pieces. It is called planetesimal which is a reason why there are planets, asteroid, comets, and moons.
- CRASH*
- After a million years later, these rocky pieces become solid and starting to orbiting around the sun.
- Only terrestrial planets could survive close to the sun. These planets are made of silicate rocks or metals which are Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars.
- Since there are rocky planets nearby the sun, gaseous and icy material collected further away which is called a gas giant planet. These gas giant planets are bigger than terrestrial planets and very far from the sun.
