- I am THE Gatsby, old sport.
- Do you know who this Gatsby is?
- Nick gets an invitation from hisneighbor Gatsby to attend his massive party. While looking for Gatsby he learns that no one knows what he actually looks like, until he finally meets Gatsby.
- Gatsby took Nick to a speakeasy where they met Meyer Wolfsheim; an acquaintance of Gatsby. Gatsby tells Nick that Wolfsheim is a gambler who had the Worlds Series fixed in 1919. This is where Nick gets an idea of the work Gatsby actually does.
- Old sport, this is Meyer Wolfsheim.
- Play with me and get whacked!
- Nice to meet you.
- Gatsby tells Nick to invite Daisy to his house for tea so they can "accidentally" meet again. Excited to see her, Gatsby orders a bunch of flowers to decorate Nick's house. When the time comes Gatsby gets nervous and after pacing back and forth outside Nick's house he walks in. They both stare at each other unable to speak and Nick leaves them alone to talk about their years apart.
- Yes, my beloved.
- Oh, my dear Gatsby is that you?
