- The heaving water coovered Beowulf as he jumped into the lake. He swam through the water for hours, finally seeing the creature, Grendals Mother.

- The creatre took him with her claws, carrying him to her home. As he was rummaging for his weapon that was unreachable, he came to the conclusion that no weapon could kill her.

- Hrothgar's mean thoguh beowulf was dead. They all gathered around saying hope was no longer here, along with the heroic fame, Beowulf lost his life.
- Beowulf came back, seen as a true hero. Treasures filled the Hall, but Grendals head and the shaft of the sword was the only thing Beowulf took.
