3 types of irony

- This is situational irony as you would expect the police officer to be following the law, not breaking it.
- SITUATIONAL IRONY
- Sir, you are under arrest!
- This is an example of verbal Irony. The character said "what beautiful weather" when it is obviously raining and windy.
- VERBAL IRONY
- What beautiful weather!
- DRAMATIC IRONY
- a boat about to sink
- It's so pretty, I could almost die!
- The characters are amazed at the beauty and do not know that they are actually going to die when they say that they could. The viewer knows that the characters are actually going to die and they are just watching and waiting for the tragic event to finally happen
