Ophelia fully believes he has gone mad and is pleading with him and praying to go back to normal. She feels as if she lost someone and apart of herself after his words.

  • This is from when the play was reenacting the murder of King Hamlet but unknown to the watchers of the play as Claudius thinks no one knows. When watching the play Claudius' heart races and sweat drips down his face as he is visibly distressed from the feelings of guilt surrounding him but more so about being found. As he cannot take the pressure anymore he stands up so the attention is directed towards him.

  • In his deranged state of mind he kills the good old man, who is still hidden.
  • Hamlet is currently conflicted about how he should take his revenge and when. He can kill Claudius when he is confessing his sins in the booth, but he realizes that god is all loving and forgiving, would he kill him now when he is confessing how is it revenge when he could give him a free entry to heaven? He realizes as such and

  • Yes sir, a sponge that soaks up the king's approval, his rewards and his decisions - Hamlet
  • Hamlet confronts his mom and as they're talking it seems as if Hamlet is gonna kill her and Polonius hiding on the king's orders comes out of hiding after she calls for help and then is killed by Hamlet. Then he reveals that he knowns the truth of his father's death and that he has been only acting mad to get his revenge.
  • Gertrude reports what happened to Polonius after promising to help Hamlet and Claudius shocked sends over Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to find Hamlet and recover the body
  • When Hamlet hides the body of Polonius Rosencrantz and Guildenstern show up to confront him and to tell them where the body is. Hamlet tells them off saying there are nothing more than a sponge that lives to soak up the validation of the kind and that it will bring them nowhere.
