- This scene of her falling into a hole is a metaphor for exploring unknown and new experiences because she follows an unknown rabbit into a tree stump.

- This scene demonstrates a simile because the door is comparing Alice to a candle when she becomes drastically smaller after drinking a potion so she can fit through the door.

- The first scene demonstrates a metaphor because it shows how Alice is interested in where the rabbits going and what the hole leads to and we can confirm this when she says "Where can a rabbit possibly be late to?' It is a metaphor because Alice is wondering where the rabbit is going to and she ends up following him.
- The second scene is a smilie because as Alice falls through the hole she lands on a floor and sees a talking door and speaks to it and the door tells her to drink the drink on the table and she does then the door tells her "You almost went out like a candle!" and he is instigating that she shrunk so much she resembles a burning candle.
