- This is Paulina. She likes to get to class early and sit down so that she can get settled in before the class begins. She has the tendency to slouch in her seat. Slouching is the target behavior

- This is Julia. She comes into the class and sits down exactly 5 minutes after the bell rings everyday. This makes this a fixed interval schedule
- Paulina's classmate, Julia, has a pet peeve regarding people who slouch. She yells and makes fun of Paulina in order to get her to sit up straight. The punishment is bullying.
- You hunchback, stand up straight
- Now, Paulina doesn't wait for Julia to make fun of her in order to sit up straight. The sight of Julia alone makes Paulina fix her posture
- Even on days where Julia is absent, 5 minutes after the bell rings, Paulina now instinctively sits up straight
