Storyboard Text

  • Man, I wish he was dead.
  • The speaker is angry with his friend but he hides his wrath from his friend to deceive him. He bottles up his wrath and it increases his anger. He then began to fear his friend which increases his hostility against him.
  • I'm glad that your my best friend!
  • Everyday he will fear his friend, which will cause him to start crying and feed his tree with his tears. After a while, a bright apple grew from the tree. His friend saw this apple and even though he knew the apple belonged to his friend, he took the apple.
  • In the morning, The narrator saw his friend dead, lying down right next to the poison apple that he grew from his tears. His friend betrayed the narrator by taking his apple and he suffered the fate of his consequences.
  • The common theme between, "the cask of amontillado" and "a poison tree" is that actions have consequences. In, the cask of amontillado, Fortunato wouldn't have died if he didn't insult Montresor and in, the poison tree, the friend wouldn't have died if he didn't take the apple. These actions led to their consequence, which was death.
