The Aztecs would line the people who were to be sacrificed up next to the skull rack.

Then a priest would appear at the top of the temple with a statue of a god. He would then run down the stairs as fast as he can and show the statue to the ones who were to be sacrificed and say “this is your god”.

Next 6 sacrificeswould appear, they would look like the devil with their black skin and crazy eyes. The supreme priest would He carried a big flint knife.
Step 6
The people that were to be sacrificed were brought up the stairs. They were totally naked and had to stand in neat lines. When they reached the top of the temple the first one was grabbed and thrown at a pointed stone that they used as an altar. Their chest was arched and back exposed.
Then the supreme priest would cut the victim's chest open with a sharp knife and took out the heart. Thesupreme priest. Then he threw the heart at the statue's face. Then the priest would kick the sacrificed person's body down the stairs which would stain them with blood.
The sacrificed were usually fierce warriors because the Aztecs only wanted to give their gods the best of warriors. After the sacrifice the warriors who had captured the people that were sacrificed were allowed to take the body's home to share among close friends and relatives to eat because they believed that they would get special powers from the body. The skull was put onto a skull rack.
