On 1st December of 1955, Rosa Parks, who was an Afro-American, was tired from a day at work and decided to travel by bus.
Many white people came and the bus driver told some of black passengers in the front to go and sit in the back. However, Rosa Parks refused to give her seat to a white man.
No, I refuse to give my seat.
Ok, black people in the front row. Go to the back of the bus because many white have come into the bus.
Fine, I will go.
The bus driver threatened Rosa Parks to give the seat to the white man but still she refused to give her seat.
No, I won't give my seat still.
Parks, I want you to give your seat to this white man or else I will kick you out of the bus.
Because of her refusal, she was sent to jail.
Her courage led to the Montgomery bus boycott. Many people who had supported Parks decided to stop using buses and walked instead.
I wonder why most people aren't taking the bus ?
In 1956, bus segregation was cancelled and people can sit anywhere they wanted to.
