- Hi! My name is Rita and I am here in the Amazon Rain Forest with conservationist Dan. Dan would you like to explain why we are here today?
- Well Rita Today I am here to let people know what is happening to this great rainforest. It is being cut down acre by acre until one day there is going to be nothing left to be cut.
- Can you explain what is happening to the forest?
- Over the years many different companies have cut down part of the forest for towns, homes and logging.
- Was this a forest before?
- Yes, In fact it was but now trees have been cut away and replaced with pavements. Sooner or later the world will completely remove the rainforest.
- What are some of the downfalls of the cutting of the Amazon?
- For one many animals will lose their homes and ecosystems. Another downfall is the trees produce amount of the world oxygen.
- Now is there any solution to this problem?
- The UN is putting a lot of effort to regulate the logging of the Amazon rain forest, and since the problem has gotten more attention people from other countries are donating money to replangt trees and stop deforestation
