- Tim O'brien had given away there location over a flash of a flashlight, what a ridiculous mistake. A picture of Tim O'brien Girlfriends face that's the reason why they had turned on the flashlight just to see a picture and of a blink of an eye kiowa is shot.
- She isn't even my girlfriend anymore and this is the only thing i have !!!!!
- Why cant you just ask her for a new picture?
- Jimmy Cross trying his best to save kiowa out of the Song Tra Bong but the smell of it is horrible and the weather condition isn't that great. Jimmy Cross upset that he couldn't save kiowa and is mad at himself.
- Poor kiowa, why did this happen i should of saved him!!!!!!

- Jimmy Cross feeling guilty he knew for a fact that he shouldn't of setting up at this location. Jimmy wishing that he could of just changed the location before this disaster had happened to kiowa.

- All the soldiers feeling a sort of guilt going out to find kiowa in the song tra bong. Norman Bowker found him, once Azar had seen the body he had gotten scared and apologized for making the jokes he had made in the past.
- Towards the end Tim O'brien is back at his home in New jersey he is debating to write the letter to kiowa's father after all the things that had happened the war was finished and he doesn't know if he is right or wrong to write the letter. All the soldiers felt a sort of guilt even when the war was over still having flashbacks on what had happened to kiowa.
