  • Hello, I am a Minoan, we were seafaring people and we dominate trade in the eastern Mediterranean.
  • Hi, I am a Phoenician, and we became expert seafarers and traders. We used to sail through the Mediterranean Sea to transport goods.
  • Oh, that’s very interesting! Our civilizations were seafaring traders in the Mediterranean!
  • Yes, also we were excellent shipbuilders and sailors and how we needed to carry a lot of goods, we developed the round boat, a very wide ship with a large space to put merchandise.
  • My civilization developed on Crete, an island in the Aegean Sea from approximately 2000 B.C. to 1400 B.C.
  • My civilization developed after, from the year 1550 B.C. to 300 B.C. in various city-states around the Mediterranean.
  • The rulers of my civilization were priest kings who made the laws and represented the gods. Knossos palace was the government building and also the temple.
  • We never united in a single government, but we founded several city-states around the Mediterranean Sea, such as Byblos, Tire, and Sidon, which were important commercial centers.
  • We were athletic people who loved nature, beautiful objects, and sports. We were also peaceful, that´s why our cities didn’t need walls for protection.
  • Our most important contribution to humanity was the alphabet, made up of a set of letters or symbols, each of which represents a single sound.
  • Our pottery was the best of the time! We were great traders of swords, pottery and gold. We also exported our culture, having a great influence on Greece.
  • We manufactured many goods, such as fabrics with a rare purple tint, ceramics, glass, metal objects and wooden furniture. We traded this goods and also exchange culture, art, religion and knowledge.
