- Sir, tell me the location of the pain and on the scale of 1-10, 10 being the highest, how severe is the pain
- I think it is 6/10 and the pain is heavy in my chest that radiates in my shoulders
- I am nurse lei and I will be assisting you for today.
- I am Nestor, I am experiencing chest pain
- Sir, sit or rest in a semi-fowler's position and I will administer nitroglycerin. Rest assured that I will be with you until you feel better
- I will also administer oxygen to assist with the relief of symptoms
- I will continue to monitor your vital signs and assess if chest pain is relieved by rest and medication
- I will also ask you some questions to completely assess you
- Thank you nurse.
- As much as possible, I encourage you to bed rest for now with the back elevated to help decrease chest discomfort
- Frequently change positions to help fluid pooling in your lungs
- I am getting better!
- How are you feeling?
- You should exercise atleast 3x a week to help lower cholesterol levels and eat a balanced diet
- since you are getting better, here are some tips to avoid this from happening again
- I will plan your daily activities and you must be reminded for the follow up monitoring and lastly you must adhere to the prescribed diet and medications
