- Hi excuse me, I'm an exchange student from Tokyo. I'm Athanasia and I was curious why are you guys dress like that?
- Oh hello, welcome to the Philippines and to our school. I'm Nicole by the way. Oh, you mean of what we're wearing?
- Ah yes yes, I wonder why?
- Oh this is a tradition from our country that's called buwan ng wika.
- What is buwan ng wika?
- Buwan ng Wika is a season annual celebration in the Philippines conducted in August to promote Filipino as the national language.
- The principal agency in charge of planning events related to the observances is the Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino.
- And that's why we're wearing this outfits and celebrates buwan Ng wika.
