  • 2. Autonomy vs. Shame and Doubt (2-3)

  • 3. Initiative vs. Guilt (3-6)
  • OOO.. This knife is really cool.

  • During this time infants depend on their caregiver to give them nutrition.
  • 4. Industry vs. Inferiority (7-12)
  • Math can be a hard subject. I can help you study more.

  • Kids learn self confidence, and learn how to do new things for themselves. 
  • 5. Identity vs. Identity Diffusion (12-18)
  • Who am I?
  • Children at this age act on impulse, let them do things for themselves but also make sure you still supervise them. They start experiencing guilt when doing something wrong.
  • 6. Intimacy vs. Isolation (Adulthood)
  • They look so happy... I wish I was happy too.
  • Cognitive development is increases at this age, memory, thinking, socialization, and new skills are adapting. Children start to notice when others are better than them. This leads to inferiority.
  • Oh no I got a D- on my math paper. 
  • Adolescents start to think more abstractly. They go through many physical changes, and have a more open mind about others. At this stage they also start learning more about their identity and who they really are.
  • At this point in an adults life, serious relationships form, without a significant other we tend to feel isolated.
