- Welcome back toSaturday Night News, September 15th, 2040. Today's topic:Climate ChangeAs most of you already know, we only have less than an acre of land left on the entire planet that is still considered a rain forest.
- It is a beautiful habitat and home to many different species, including orangutans! In fact, it is the only natural environment where orangutans can exist now adays!
- The Bornean orangutan population has halved in just 40 years, according to the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Now critically endangered, a 2015 UN report estimated that, at that time, just 55,000 orangutans lived in the wild.
- Palm Oil
- Palm oil is to blame. People deforest to be to use palm oil to make lots of money! Palm oil as biodiesel emits three times the greenhouse gas emissions of fossil diesel! It is in almost everything you eat, and in a lot of things we use. Every time you put on lipstick, you coat your lips with palm oil! Chips, Peanut butter, and ice cream all contain it!

- I'm reporting live from the scene of the fire, and I'm sorry to say that the world's last rainforest has been destroyed, turned to ashes. The coming generations will only know of Orangutans from their picture books...
