  • In the Zig Zag Road to Rights, the struggle for change is represented in the fact that there was a strong push for many rights to be implemented. But what keeps this struggle continuing is the fact that society was still unwilling to accept African Americans. Creating change through adding new laws shows that the struggle for change has differed over the years, mainly because lawmaking is difficult to pursue because there are already laws in place .

  • In the speech "What to a Slave is Fourth of July," the struggle for change is represented in a way through the speech. In relation to today, speech is a popular way to gain attention for a good cause
  • THE SOCIAL DILEMMA
  • Lincon's concern in this address was to talk about the civil war and the impact that it had on our nation. His passion for change in this conflict was to have the hope of bringing a divided country back together. This struggle for freedom has changed throughout the years but what has stayed the same, was that it motivates more people to speak out.

This essentially meant that schools would have the same opportunity regardless of skin color but they were still racially separated at the time.
