Storyboard Text
- Currently, we are walking down the hallway. The hallway is similar to the endoplasmic reticulum, which transports materials around a plant's cell. Hallways transport us to different rooms in the house.
- This is the kitchen. The kitchen functions much like ribosomes in plant cells; ribosomes synthesize proteins suitable for cell growth and rebuilding, just as meals are prepared in the kitchen which provide us with essential proteins.
- This is the trash can. Trash cans are like lysosomes. Lysosomes eliminate waste within cells, and trash cans get rid of household trash.
- This is our Refrigerator. The refrigerator works like the large vacuole in a plant's cell. The vacuole serves to preserve food and water for the plant cell, just as the fridge serves the same purpose at home.
- This is the air that flows through the room. The cytoplasm is like this too. It's a jelly like substance that fills the voids between the various organelles in the cell, just the way air fills up the empty space between the furniture in this room.
- This is my mom's office where she sells stuff on Amazon in her spare time. When someone places an order, she packages it up and ships it out. It is similar to how the golgi apparatus makes and distributes proteins to the rest of the plant cell.
