- I am going to tell you about the berlin wall.
- -The wall was created at the end of the second world war when Germany was divided into four parts and occupied by the allied powers.
- -The construction of the Berlin Wall and, especially its fall, have been among the most important moments in the history of the 20th century.
- -Nearly 3 million people left East Germany behind to enter capitalism. The GDR began to realize the loss of its population and decided to build a wall.
- -During the construction of the wall, people whose houses were on the construction line were evicted.
- -Between 1961 and 1989 more than 5,000 people tried to cross the Berlin Wall and more than 3,000 were arrested.
- -The fall of the wall was motivated by the opening of borders between Austria and Hungary in May 1989, on November 9, 1989 the GDR government stated that the passage to the west was allowed.
- -Thousands of people crowded to cross to the other side and no one could stop them, the first breaches were opened in the wall and the countdown to the end of their days began. Families and friends were able to see each other again after 28 years.
