The father Almeida

- Father Almeida is a character from Ecuadorian legends who is said to have liked to go out at night without being seen so he could have a drink of brandy in the Historic Center of Quito.

- One night when he was planning to go out to “quench his thirst”, it perched on his arm and when he was about to leave, he managed to hear a voice that said to him:
- The priest believed that the voice had been a product of his imagination and without further ado he replied:
- Until when Father Almeida?
- Until the return my lord.
- After saying that, he went to the underground canteen where he was drinking and didn't come out until he was completely drunk.
- The priest was stumbling down the street, until he collided head-on with some men carrying a coffin on their way to the cemetery. The coffin fell in the middle of the street, causing the lid to break.
- Father Almeida could not believe his eyes, the man inside the coffin was himself.Needless to say, he immediately sobered up.
