- Wow! I love rain- that must be part of the hydrosphere!
- There are four spheres that make up this planet- Lithosphere (the rocks, sand, and mountains), Hydrosphere (all water sources), Biosphere (all the living animals and plants) and Atmosphere (gases and the air we breathe)
- And we must be part of the Biosphere!
- All the spheres interact. Look at the water- some of it evaporates from this lake into the atmosphere. This is an interaction between the Hydrosphere and Atmosphere. Can you spot another one?
- I can! After the water evaporates into the atmosphere, it builds up as water vapor in the clouds. Then, when it rains, it keeps the trees and plants growing!
- So that would be an interaction between the Hydrosphere and Lithosphere!
- Hey, that's another interaction between the biosphere and atmosphere!
- Of course! Now, let's go home, and we'll continue this lesson in the future!
- Exactly! And do you see the sun? The plants need this sunlight to go through the process of photosynthesis, and they end up producing oxygen for US to breathe! The sun is so important to our planet's 4 spheres.
