- Odysseus is from an Island called, Ithaca. Odysseus is the king of this island. " If ever mortal man inquire how you were put to shame and blinded, tell him Odysseus, raider of cities, took your eye: Latertes' son, whose home's on Ithaca!" (1122 Homer)Odysseus tell's the Cyclopes this after he struck him in the eye.
- Unmatched Warrior
- Odysseus was brave when defeating the Cyclopes. Odysseus came up with a plan to take the monster down. He and his soldiers come together to take the Cyclopes down. He struck him in the eye with a sharped wooden stick. "Now, by the gods, I drove my big hand spike deep in the embers, charring it again, and cheered my men along with battle talk to keep their courage up." (1118 Homer)Odysseus does this so he and his soldiers can escape the cave.
- Battle Supernatural Forces
- After Odysseus blinded the Cyclopes, the Cyclopes called out to his father to set a curse on Odysseus to be forever lost at sea. " O hear me, lord, blue girdler of the islands, if I am thine indeed, and thou art father: grant that Odysseus, raider of cities, never see his home." (1123 Homer)
- After the Cyclops after his father to have Odysseus be lost at sea forever, Odysseus did everything he couldn't keep his men alive. However, most of them were arrogant and died at sea. Odysseus was strong because he continued to move forward, despite of the challenges faced by him. "Weathered many bitter nights and days in his deep heart at sea, while he fought only to save his life, to bring his shipmates home." (1104 Homer)
- Odysseus came across the island of the Lotus Eaters. He sent two of his men to check out the island. However they never came back, many of his men were under the spell of the Lotus plant. The men never wanted to leave the island. Odysseus had to tie him men so they wouldn't be tempted to stay. "They fell in, soon enough, with lotus Eaters, who showed no will to do us harm, only offering the sweet Lotus to our friends- but those who ate this honeyed plant, the Lotus, never cared to report, nor to return." (1112 Homer)
