In this scene, the monkey tries to get into a party with all of the other monkey gods but is denied entry. When he is denied entry it upsets him and they tell him they won't let him in because he doesn't have shoes. This makes him very upset and he orders all of the monkeys to wear shoes. I think that the lesson here is to not let people make you feel bad because of who you are. The lesson here is let be who they want to be and dont set rules like wearing shoes to make people feel uncofortable
friendship/betrayal
This is an important lesson or theme since the lesson is to not use stereotypes that may be offensive. In this scene, chin kee walks in with his luggage in these Chinese takeout boxes and this may be offensive and shows one of the many bad chinses stereotypes. The theme in this is to not assume people's identity by how they appear.
betrayal
In this scene, chinkee goes to lunch with his cousin danee on his first day at school in America. At lunch the author shows the racist stereotype of chinkee eating cat noodles. The lesson is even though someone may eat different food they are still a human being

In this scene cousin, Danny is fighting chinkee because he thinks that chinkee is ruining his reputation at school. The moral of this scene is to not betray your friends/family just because of their personality and who they are.

In this scene, wei-chen changes his looks to be like some other guy in his class to impress a girl. he gets a perm to try to fit in when really he didn't need to. This lesson is to not change who you are to try to impress people
