- Chapter 3
- In this chapter we learn that there are 2 "gangs",the Greasers and the Socs. Ponyboy tells us about his parents death and how tight nit the greasers are, how they are a family.
- Chapter 4
- Johnny
- Darry
- Dally,Pony, and Johnny go to the drive-in and there they meet 2 soc girls. Dally goes over to them and hits on the red headed Cherry Valance. Later on Pony and Johnny go speak to them and become "friends".
- Chapter 5
- In this chapter we get to meet Cherry and Marcia's boyfriends who get mad about them being with the greaser's. Later in the chapter when Pony gets home late Darry gets really mad and ends up hitting Ponyboy.
- Chapter 6
- In this chapter we see Ponyboy and Johnny relax in the park. We see later in this chapter just how much hatred there is between the Socs and the Greasers when The Soc almost kill Pony by Drowning him and Johnny ends up killing the Soc that did it.
- In this chapter we see that Johnny and Pony are staying in the church and reading Gone with the Wind to mind there time. After about 5 days in the church Dally comes and takes them to eat.
- Kids get stuck in a burning building that Pony and Johnny both think they are at fault for. Pony and Johnny run in and save the kids, when Johnny gets stuck and Dally has to run in and save him.
