Storyboard Text
- I knew a woman who was pregnant but something felt off. She was very sick.
- Yeah Shae, I’m ok.
- A few days later after school my grandma picked me up and said that my mom was in the hospital. She drove to my dad and he took me to the room my mom was in. 2 minutes later a doctor came in.
- I’m sorry Mr and Mrs. Lovelace, but I’m you have had a miscarriage
- Huh? Miscarriage?
- Mom, what’s a Miscarriage
- The doctor told me what it was. After hearing what it was, I broke down into tears. I didn’t understand, how can my brother die if he wasn’t even born yet? I didn’t want to believe it.
- It was hard to go through all of that. I put on a smile around people so they wouldn’t worry. I tried to make my parents feel better, but they just lost a son so it wasn’t easy. When I was alone, I would just close my eyes and replay the months that passed. It didn’t make it any better that another family had passed away a few weeks after.
- Laying down in my room a lot gave me time to think. I really never had the chance to meet my first sibling. And that my family member was gone forever. Death never really has been on my mind until now. After a while, I feel better.
- It's been years since that. I’m now in high school and I have a baby brother. He drives me crazy but I love him. After my experience, I try to make the best of life. I try to make fun memories with my brother because he is a blessing.
