I'm soooo ready for this test. I studied everything about the micrometer screw gauge
Girl you losing it or what!? The test is on Vernier caliper
Are you serious?! It's on the what caliper. Aren't they the same.
The Vernier Caliper and no it's not the same. It is used for measuring extremely small objects but it isn't as precise as the micrometer screw gauge.
I am gonna fail this test. I can't possibly learn all about the Vernier Caliper before the test
Don't worry it's not that hard. For starters, the range is from 0-12.5cm and the S.D. is 0.01cm. I could teach you how to use it in the lab during break.
So the vernier caliper has the jaws, the main scale, the vernier scale and the object your measuring. We'll use a marble.
Ok so how do you actually measure it?
To measure the diameter of the marble, you put it in between the outer jaws and close it by moving the vernier caliper along the main scale until it is held firmly.
Well how do you determine the reading? Do you need to use the two scales?
Well you do need both scales. First the main scale reading is found wherever the 0 in the vernier scale begins. The vernier scale reading determines the second decimal place and that is any line that lines up exactly with a line from the main scale
Wow ok I think you're gonna have to demonstrate
