  • You go with your family and whoever wants to go, Jacob. Me, my family, and the rest, will stay here.
  • Abraham, this isn’t working for my family and some others. We are going to find a new and hopefully better life in Egypt.

  • I have no choice but to be with my family and help them on their journey. I will miss you!

  • The Patriarch Abraham made a covenant with God promising that if he and his family left Ur and traveled to Canaan, that one day, it would be his descendantsPromised Land. Years later, famine struck in Canaan. Abraham’s grandson, Jacob, and his family, fled to Egypt. As the Israelites grew more numerous, the Pharaoh became mistrustful and their Monotheistic religion. Pharaoh enslaved them!

  • Moses was the adopted son of the princess of Egypt. He spoke with God and tried to release the Isrealites. He left the palace to go with the Hebrews because he realized that he was Hebrew just like them and that they needed his help.His first born son died, and sickness was spreading, so he decided to let the Hebrews go in order to keep his community running.

  • The Pharaoh and the Egyptians horrible punishments. They had ethical problems. Such as, deadly sickness, the death of the first son, crops dying, and blood. Moses told them to mark their door with lamb’s blood. If they did that, the death angel would pass over them
  • YAY!! We won!!!
  • AHHHH!!!
  • The Pharaoh demanded them to leave. So he could save his community and bring it back together. Moses lead them to the Promised Land where they could live happily forever. The Freedom of Hebrews is called Pass Over and is remembered during the week of when the death angel passed over the Hebrews.
  • They went to the Promised Land where everyone could be happy. Moses received the Ten Commandments from God so he could lead his community safely and the right way.
  • Abraham led the Isrealites in Canaan from their old home Ur, and for long years, they lived happily, until they ran into a famine. After their defeat of Jericho, the Wall of Jericho, came down.
