- "When you write you're coming , he's all smiles,and talks about the future, and-he's just wonderful. And the closer you seem to come, the more shaky he gets, and then by the time you get here, he's arguing and he seems angry at you, I think it's just maybe he can't bring himself to-to open up to you. Why are you so hateful to each other? Why is that"
- Linda and Biff are fighting. There both angry. Linda wants to know why Willy and Biff can't get along with each other (Act 1 Pg 38)
- Biff and Linda are still arguing. Biff said under his breath that he isn't hateful hes telling his mom how he feels (Act 1 Pg 38)
- "I'm not hateful, mom."
- That's all you are, my baby! and you! what happened to the love you had for him? yo were such pales! how you used to talk to him on the phone everynight! how lonely he was till he could come home to you!
- Biff and Linda are calming down from the argument. Linda tells Biff how and feels and Biff understands her (Act 1 Pg 39)
- All right, Mom i'll liver here in my room, and i'll get a job. I'll keep away from him, that's all
