  • Personal Experience withClassical Conditioning

  • I watched High School Musical so often as a child, and I loved all the songs from all the movies.
  • Unconditioned Stimulus
  • Yeah, we're gonna BOP BOP BOP! Bop to the top!
  • High School Musical
  • Bop to The Top, sang by Sharpay and Ryan, was one of the first HSM songs on my playlist. It's, well, a bop. I listened to it a lot, which is a bit embarrassing looking back, but I loved this song! I full on jammed out to it. I put on a performance.
  • Unconditioned Response
  • Yeahhh we're gonna bop bop bop...
  • One night I needed to set an alarm, but I couldn't choose a sound. I chose one of the first songs in my phone- Bop to The Top. The song worked well with getting me out of bed, and I thought it was a good choice of alarm song. At first, hearing this song at the start of my morning was chill, and I liked it. It meant nothing to me because at this time, during summer, I had nothing to wake up to, and I knew I didn't have to start anything right away after hearing my alarm.
  • Neutral Stimulus
  • Zzz..Zzz....
  • It's my everyday alarm. I have to hear it every morning, and every morning it means the same thing: I have to get out of bed and start being productive. Bop to The Top now means that I have to get ready for school, go to school, and BE in school. Bop to The Top is no longer a bop, but the boss of me. I hate it.
  • Conditioned Stimulus
  • Aye que fabulosa Raeaye aye aye Arriba¿ Quieres bailar?
  • Sharpay, please... just 5 more minutes of sleep...
  • Bop to The Top is still on my main playlist, and every time it plays, I get annoyed, and my mind simulates the idea of me being suddenly awoken by Sharpay yelling Spanish at me with no preparation time. I feel as though I'm behind in something, or everything, and it makes me very anxious for a short amount of time. I refuse to remove it from my playlist, or change my alarm sound, but I still get very annoyed. Anytime it plays I feel the dread of having to slide out of my comfortable bed and start my dreaded day. This is all your fault, Sharpay!!!
  • Conditioned Response
  • PLEASE NO!!! NOT THIS
  • I absolutely hate this song.
  • aye aye aye Arriba¿ Quieres bailar?Aye que fabulosa Rae
