  • Take this, all of you, and eat it. This is My Body which will be given up for you.
  • I am at church to receive the Eucharist and strengthen my relationship with Jesus.
  • Why Youth Would Want to Participate in the Eucharist
  • Christians celebrate the Eucharist to thank and praise God. We take the bread and wine not only as symbols of Jesus' presence, but as Christ through consecration.
  • Rituals that take place in this scene are the Word and consecration. The priest overseeing the mass uses the Word to consecrate the bread and wine into the body and blood. Consecration is taking place in this scene as these are the words the priest says in mass to consecrate the bread and wine. The symbols present are the bread and wine. The bread symbolizes life; Jesus nourishes us and gives us life. The wine adds to the celebration the basic symbolism of drink as necessary for survival. We all share a common cup.
  • What we trust and believe in from a young age normally influences what we believe as we get older. One of the keys to life-long faith and trust in Jesus is to trust in Him from a young age. By participating in the Eucharist from a young age, it becomes a routine which we can follow for the rest of our life.
