- EXPOSITION
- One Crazy Summer is a story of 3 sisters: Vonetta, Delphine, and Fern who went to see their mother in Oakland California for summer. They went to see her because their father thought they should get to know their mother.
- CONFLICT
- The girls are trying to get Cecile's attention and affection. This shows as a conflict because Delphine was expecting that Cecile would hug her little sisters at the very least.
- The girls aren’t allowed in the kitchen, the girls were told to stay out the kitchen and stay at the center all day. It happened to be a revolutionary group called the Black Panthers, they learned the power in right about the people in their community.
- RISING ACTION
- END
- The girls mother and two black panthers get arrested by police and the rally that the girls were going to participate in, was in honor of Bobby Hutton, Huey Newton, and other revolutionaries.
- CLIMAX

- Hirohito’s mom was kind enough to let Delphine, Vonetta, and Fern stay with them while Cecile was in jail, because Hirohito and his mother knew what it was like for the girls have a family member taken away by the police.
- FALLING ACTION
- Thegirls are heading back to Brooklyn after learning about their mother and rights.Delphine has realized that things are harder than she thought, and her mother isdifferent. Cecile and Delphine promised to keep in touch. Fern ran from theline and hugged Cecile, the other two did too.
