- Hi! I'm Samantha, and today I'm going to talk about The Elements of story...
- There are 5 elements of a story.
- 1. Characters : The characters are the individuals that the story is about.
- The author should introduce the characters in the story with enough information that the reader can visualize each person.
- 2. Settings : The setting initiates the main backdrop and mood for a story. The setting can be referred to as story world or milieu to include a context (especially society) beyond the immediate surroundings of the story. Elements of setting may include culture, historical period, geography, and hour.
- For each night
- 3. Conflict : The conflict happens when characters are against each other, like teams in a game or two groups fighting on the playground.
- 4. Plot : What happens in a story. It is made up of a series of related events that include the exposition, conflict, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution.
- 5. Theme : The theme is a little more abstract than the previous elements, the theme refers to the underlying insight, the moral or idea that the writer is expressing through the story. It is often thought of as the 'message' of the story.
