Texto do Storyboard

  • Alexander was an ex-soldier who fought in World War 1, he grew up in a farm in Scotland and he wasn’t afraid of getting his hands dirty
  • In 1928 Fleming came home and found that a bacteria that he was planning on throwing away died, instead of throwing it away he spent time in his lab figuring out what caused the bacteria to die
  • After much research Alexander found out that his bacteria died due to a fungus, he then was to grow this fungus which was able to kill bacteria in wounded soldiers. This fungus was very useful and was later on renamed to Penicillin.
  • In 1946 Amalia Voureka joined Alexanders laboratory with a scholarship, she was known for her work as a physician and bacteriologist.
  • From 1947 to 1952 Amalia published nine research papers in Alexanders laboratory, four of those research papers she did as a single author and in three other she was the first author.
  • In 1953 she married Alexander Fleminng even though there was a 31 year age difference, she also changed her name from Amalia Voureka to Amalia Fleming
