- Stop worrying! Everything will be fine. Yes, I will be careful with my wishes.
- Do not make any wishes unless you know what you really want and say it clearly.
- I wish for 200 pounds!
- Wish for whatever you want my dear husband.
- Wish for us to be rich!
- They said they would give us 200 pounds...
- My baby! My poor Herbert. He can't be dead, he can't!
- There was once a family who was enjoying their evening. All of sudden, the door is knocked. Sergeant Major Morris had came to speak to them about something he found. He spoke to them about the monkey's paw. Mr. White and his son Herbert were very intrigued by the paw. So they took the paw from Morris and decided they were going to make a wish.
- Sergeant Major Morris had warned them about making the wish clearly and left. The family was talkin. About what to wish for. Herbert had said to wish for them to be rich. Mr. White said he didn't want to be rich, but to receive some money would be good. That was when they all agreed that they would wish for 200 pounds.
- The next day, and everything was going okay. Herbert had gone to work and his parents were at home. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Mr. White opened the door and received terrible news. His son was dead. They also told him they would give him a compensation of 200 pounds.
