- Using a thermometer, he measured the temperature of the different colors.

- He found it got hotter towards the red end of the spectrum.
- He moved the thermometer just outside the red light and, to his surprise, he found the temperature on the thermometer increased even more.
- He concluded that there must be some invisible radiation that we can't see.
