- Now that we know how to play basketball, let's figure out what this arc on the court means!
- Two kids find themselves on a basketball court and are curious how to play the game. To figure it out, they decide to watch others play the sport.
- They learn the rules and the goals of the game. They also see that there are different positions in the game and each player on the court has a different job.
- Basketball Statistics
- After learning the basics, they learn about a three-pointer. This also helps them to see that there are different ways to score and therefore certain strategies to use that can be successful in scoring.
- They watch as other teams shoot from behind the arc and see one team that is successful at making many shots from far away and the other weak and non-threatening.
- The two kids, formulating an offensive strategy of their own, examine basketball statistics to better understand the importance of the three-pointer.
- To get more information on three-point shooting and the impact it makes on the game, Nicole interviews NBA player, Nathan Knight. He discusses how his recent development of this skill has changed the way defenders guard him and has allowed him to score more points.
