Texto do Storyboard

  • The turn seen in line 6 ''The hand that writ it, for I love you so, refocuses the poem. The first 5 lines were kind of dramatic and dark but then the speaker reminds his beloved that he loves her even though he is gone. After the turn things start to lighten up a bit and the poem goes into more detail about the love between the speaker and his beloved. Even though grief is the final act of love the speakers creates a light tone is his death and the way his beloved should go about it.
  • ''But let your love even with my life decay; This line after the turn means even when the speakers life ends let your love die also. Decay returns to the imagery of the tomb and the body's corruption. The advice offered is painful because of the lingering suspicion that it is not needed. The youth was going to forget him anyway.
  • That I in your sweet thoughts would be forgot.'' In your sweet thoughts refers to there is nothing better than being in the thoughts of one's beloved. The speakers says would be forgot meaning he has a desire to be forgotten. This line is important because it shows how much the speaker is thinking about his partners mental state now that he is gone. That he understands how much his beloved wants to think about him and reminisce, but he wants to be forgotten in order for her to be happy and find peace.
  • The theme of Sonnet 71 is do not dwell on death. Instead move on with life and be happy.
