  • The Stamp act
  • How dare they start making us follow so many laws and pay so many taxes. This is Salutary Neglect!
  • Yeah!
  • We need to get more money because of the war
  • We should just tax the Americans!
  • Raising Questions about Taxes
  • We help build the British empire, how can we have no say in the British parliament
  • And on top of that we have taxes that are going into British solder's pockets!
  • Stamp Act is Passed
  • No taxation without representation!
  • How could they! I'm going to lose my business!
  • There will be a new act making ever paper good with out a stamp illegal!
  • After letting the Americans practically govern themselves Britain started making laws and taxes. These taxes and laws were set to raise money for Britain after the seven years war.
  • "No Taxation Without Representation"
  • This is horrible, we must plan a meeting to talk about this
  • The Americans had no say in British parliament which seemed unfair to them because they built up the British empire. Americans also didn't want there taxes to pay British solders to watch over them.
  • Some Colonies were a No-show
  • The stamp act was the first direct tax on the Americans. It made every paper good illegal/ useless without a stamp, that proved a tax had been paid on the paper. This made a colonist mad and come up with the solgan " No taxation without rersentaion!".
  • Boycotting British Goods
  • They repealed the act!!!
  • The colonist said "No Taxation without Representation". They wanted to have a say in British government and planed a conference in New York in October 1765 to discus the stamp act.
  • Yes! In New York
  • Only 9 of the 13 colonies showed up which caused division. The stamp Act Resolves was signed by every colon but one and stated that every colony needed representation to be taxed.
  • How come some of the colonies didn't show?!
  • I don't know
  • The colonies boycotted British goods and eventually England repealed the act due to struggles faced by English merchants.
  • YAY!
