Martin believed in protesting peacefully for equality. Quite often he was met with violence and threats, but he never retaliated. He stood his ground that peace and love win over hate and violence.
Dr. King wrote many inspirational speeches, his most famous being his I Have a Dream speech. It was delivered at the Lincoln Memorial on August 28, 1963 during the March on Washington.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was arrested many times during his life. One infamous arrest is when he participated in a lunch counter sit-in at a segregated diner and was sent to jail.
