The King Aegeus of Athens made a deal with King Minos of Crete not to attack Athens for 9 years in exchange for 7 boys and 7 girls to be eaten by the Minotaur.
The Labyrinth
9 years passed. Prince Theseus, Son of King Aegeus, wanted to be one of the 7 boys that went to Crete so that he could kill the Minotaur. He agrees to take the black sails down and change to white if he was successful.
The Betrayal
The 7 boys and 7 girls sail to Crete. Princess Ariadne sees Prince Thesus and falls in love with him. She helps him by giving him a ball of string to help him find his way out of the labyrinth, if he takes her away with him to be his wife.
The End
The Minotaur is King Mino’s pet that is half human, half bull, and lives in a labyrinth that no one has escaped from. Prince Theseus kills the Minotaur with his sword and finds his way back to the other children using the string. They then leave with the Princess.
They stop on an island and they leave Princess Ariadne there as he does not want to marry her.
The Gods are angry. King Aegeus sees the black sails and thinks his son has died so he jumps off the cliffs into the sea.
