"Wait, but who will lead you?" the Prince asked. The innkeeper spoke up, "I will! People have come and gone in this tavern, and I've heard their stories. I think I best know how to lead." The two others nod in agreement. The Prince thinks "hmm, that sounds oddly like my father" and so he turns to leave.
"Wait let me come with you!" one of the followers cries. "I don't think I agree with them. I want to know more!""Of course! Come along," the Prince says.
The Prince and his new friend arrive at an independent territory of the kingdom. There, the people have devised a new form of rule in which they all get a say. The two stand in front of the meeting house where the leaders talk about the community's issues.
The Prince introduces himself, "I'm traveling to learn more about this kingdom. How does your rule meet the needs of the people?"The politicians responded "We can meet the people's needs because they elected us to make their decisions. We wouldn't be here without them, but overall we know what's best."
"Look at this building! How do they understand their people? Isn't this the same as back home?" the Prince's friend argued. The Prince thought for a while and said "Maybe Here at least the people are listened to, but is that enough to make their decisions?"
The Prince and his friend searched far and wide for more cultures and people to learn from. However, due to the Prince's status, they weren't always welcome. In the end, the two fled to the outer reaches of the kingdom.
