  • It's so cool how the plane falls when it doesn't have the energy to fly anymore..
  • It is all because of The forces of gravity. It is a fascinating thing to learn about!
  • Tell me more!!!
  • Do you see how the orange falls off the tree, this is because the force of gravity from the center of the Earth is pulling down on the center of the orange.
  • This is because motion is measured in newtons. And whichever way has more newtons, the object will go that way. Gravity has more newtons pulling down, so therefore the orange will fall.
  • Why doesn't it just stay still?
  • Gravitational potential energy is energy an object possesses because of its position in a gravitational field. The most common use of gravitational potential energy is for an object near the surface of the Earth where the gravitational acceleration can be assumed to be constant at about 9.8 m/s2.
  • The strength of gravity depends on the mass and the distance. The first part means that since gravity relies on the center of mass, if you have a bigger mass, than the force of the gravity will be stronger. The second part means, think about you voice and your listening. If you get farther apart, the message won't be as strong and some of it will fade away. That is exactly how gravity works.
  • I'm still a little confused on that last part.
  • So the summary is:Gravity affects everythingThe strength depends on the distance and mass;Newton came up with the Law of Gravitational ForceAlso, it pulls on an objects center of mass and whichever object has a weaker force in Newtons will be the one attracted and moved.
  • We're here!
  • I guess I learned a little too much about gravity.
